ABOUT
My name is Katinka

I’m a medical anthropologist and arts-based researcher.

WHAT I DO
I am a PhD trained in cultural and medical anthropology. I collaborate with communities to study how their experiences with collective ritual/non-clinical therapies can provide opportunities for healing. As an assistant professor in Family and Community Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin I currently design and test interventions with Veterans living with moral injury and military trauma. The arts and humanities are our path to translate research and share knowledge with the public. Our mission is to bridge socio-cultural gaps in understanding to improve care.
